Fun Phones – A New Way to Communicate
Phones are such a wonderful way of talking to someone it’s amazing to think how we ever coped without them.
Gone are the days when the humble telephone would be available to the general public as a ‘one style suits all’. Nowadays telephones come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, colours and ring tones. They are even available in novelty phones too.
Novelty Phones
Novelty phones are an excellent idea to chat to your friend or family member but adding your own special style to make it more fun. The ring tones may vary from traditional telephones through the decades from the 1920’s right through to the 1950’s like a diner phone.
Maybe those of a certain age may remember the old standard finger dialling phone in sharp colours – bright reds or blue. By the 1980’s the latest fashion was the Trim phone with it’s distinctive shrill ringer.
Novelty Phone Dialling
As the decades passed by, the finger dialling phones were replaced with the new push button phones. These succeeded the dialling phones. Later inventions to be included was the introduction of cordless phones, these were ideal for everyone not having to actually stand or sit during a conversation by the phone socket.
This enabled a great deal of freedom to chat anywhere around the home. Telephones then became wall mounted or sat on a table top. The materials varied from wood to plastic. More and more homes now owned a telephone to the point that phones were being installed in many rooms of the house.
Character Phones
Children now owned character phones in the likeness of their favourite Disney character – Donald Duck, Mickey and Minnie Mouse or Pluto, the list was endless.
Men love their ‘boy toys’ gadgets and loved the Star Wars characters such as R2D2 or Darth Vader.
Even Dad’s got in on the act by owning a phone in the style of a golf buggy, car or Dr Who Tardis.
Mum’s, so not to be left out had their own personal favourites too – a red stiletto shoe or a pair of red lips.
All these phones still have one thing in common – communication, but it’s now not the case that ‘one style suits all’. everyone has individual personalities and everyone likes to have something that is different from others showing their own creative style and flair.

That’s got me thinking I might have a little search for a Darth Vader phone – how impressionable am I!
Well, telephones have revolutionized the field of communication greatly thereby getting our family members and friends to be in touch ever. So hats off to the great inventor Alexander Graham bell for his wonderful discovery firstly. And as the technology is flourishing day by day, the efficiency of communication are also improving rapidly. So thanks for your ideas to purchase some funny phones available on the market. I hope with these novelty phones one could talk endlessly and enjoy the polyphonic ring tones greatly.
