There is a trend these days towards nostalgia and the old style, old fashioned telephones of yesteryear. They seem a world away from the latest mobile devices and you probably wouldn’t want to carry one in your pocket!
However, in a living room or hallway, a stylish telephone from the first part of the twentieth century can be a great addition to the decor of a living space and add a lot of fun too!
It was only just a few years ago that the rotary dial was the standard way to dial – before that, you had to pick up the phone which was directly connected to the operator who connected you their end.
Ring tones have also changed a lot through the years. Now you can have any tune or noise you want and even compose your own!
However, the stylish and gentle ring of an old style, old fashioned telephone will bring back plenty of memories (for some of us) and the younger folk may recognise these sounds from the old Hollywood films. Of course the old candlestick phone is iconic!
